The new Aston Martin Vantage (V12)

"out of office" = reduced 'normal news' stories

I tried to make the 2022 Aston Martin V12 Vantage look (almost) subtle

Come to think of it, Lexus did tend to pick nice places for its press events. ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)

Final Lap 🏁

Feature preview: Going 1,000 km with less than 100 km of range

I’ve spent 24 hours in a Nissan Juke. Owned (and miss) a Citroën 2CV. I’ve driven thousands of kilometers in a Scion iQ roundtrip…in order to drive some of the world’s smallest cars.

This is different: when I look down at the dash at my range display, it says 62 km. My round trip will be more than 2,000 km.

Regardless of your feelings, Lotus just showed its first SUV. (It’s hot.)More coming on its active aerodynamics and overall performance—here’s the official press release.

“When I was the malleable age of eight years old, I was gifted a weighty book which had a picture of every single American car ever produced from 1900 to 2000. As the dog-eared pages will testify, I spent hours looking at those chrome machines and imagining what it would be like to drive one. From those pages, a favourite emerged: a yellow 1970 Corvette, sitting proud on a dusty highway in the California desert. And I vowed then that I would have one.”

It seems like Clayton Seams, online editor for Driving.ca, just had a very similar experience to me—and thousands of people before us.

Selling your dream car, it’s no joke:

Toyota Hachi

I’d planned on writing about a new Corolla coming out, but first, a Toyota Sports 800 built for one person: Japanese racing driver Noburteru Taniguchi. The video is all in Japanese, but the walk around, enthusiasm—and car—are well worth the watch. (Yes, that’s a 4A-G engine swap…) • source NOBチャンネル on YouTube

Car configuration tools have come a long way—and they’re only going to get more elaborate in the future. When I can, I’ll use these tools to showcase newly-launched cars. • 2022 Aston Martin V12 Vantage – GSBP

I’ve spent 24 hours in a Nissan Juke. I’ve driven thousands of kilometers in a Scion iQ roundtrip…in order to drive some of the world’s smallest cars.

This is different: voluntarily driving my 2015 Chevrolet Spark EV with all-of-65 km-ish-of-range for something like 19 hours. Allegedly.

I’ll be posting updates from the road here, to the member’s only @speedster.news Instagram over the next few days, and will have a full feature story here about the experience soon.
