Anyone can do an art car once: there are countless Facebook Groups full of people shaming the legions of home-brew examples. BMW, in comparison, is sitting on an entire back catalogue of priceless, capital-A capital-C Art Cars. As perfect as each are, they’re pretty much one-offs.
This gallery is to celebrate the workers who’ve enabled BMW and artist Jeff Koons to make another Art Car—99 of them, in fact. That’s more than four full (21-car) NASCAR grids, with a few to spare.

“We are very well prepared and have worked with Jeff Koons to optimise every detail for overall effect. Now, we have to realise these 99 vehicles with maximum precision and repeat accuracy as the artist intended and in the interests of our customers.”
– Christoph Schröder, head of BMW Group Plant Dingolfing
