Sure, the two 4x4 SUVs started as kissing cousins when Hyundai decided to get into the off-roader market to compete with the Korean Ssangyong Korrando. (Which, in its original form, had been based on the Japanese Mitsubishi “Jeep”…itself a Willys Jeep.)
